SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- One of the criminal trials in the Gear Up Scandal is being moved to Sioux Falls from Charles Mix County.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says he respects the court's decision to move the trial to ensure a fair trail.
The trial for Stephanie Hubers, former assistant business manager of the Mid-Central Education Cooperative in Platte, is scheduled to begin June 25h.
The joint trial for former Mid-Central Director Dan Guericke and former Gear Up consultant Stacy Phelps will still be held in Charles Mix County, but will be delayed until after Huber's trial.
The alleged shenanigans with the Gear Up program really exploded after former Mid-Central Business Manager Scott Westerhuis killed himself and then his family in 2015. Westerhuis managed part of the program, designed to help Native American students.
