SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- A Sioux Falls man and a Harrisburg man have been indicted by a federal grand jury for transportation of explosive materials and possession of explosives by a prohibited person.
Nathaniel Johnson, 29, and William Fralick, 30, were indicted on Jan. 17. They appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on Feb. 2, and pled not guilty.
The United States Attorney's Office says the maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 20 years in custody and/or a $500,000 fine.
The Indictment alleges that on Jan. 19, 2017, Johnson and Fralick, knowing they were not licensed or permitted, transported explosive materials. Johnson and Fralick are also prohibited from possessing explosives as they each have convictions for felonies.
The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Johnson and Fralick are in jail awaiting trial. A trial date has not been set.
