SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - You'll see vintage World War Two aircraft flying over Sioux Falls today as the run-up begins for this weekend's Air Show.
Rick Tupper with the Commemorative Air Force says the Navy's Blue Angels arrive Wednesday.
Tupper says Thursday will get kind of loud around Sioux Falls with aircraft flying practices. He says the Blue Angels will do a practice show on Friday and then the real thing will be Saturday and Sunday.
Other performers include Marine Corp Harrier, Air Force F-16, Army Special Parachute Team and World War Two aircraft the B-17 and B-25.
Meanwhile...it's also Navy Week in Sioux Falls, an outreach effort into parts of the country without a significant Navy presence.
Minnehaha County Treasurer Bob Litz says Navy Week brings a variety of events, equipment and personnel to town to give residents an opportunity to learn about its importance to national security.
Crew from the country's newest nuclear submarine, the South Dakota which is under construction in Connecticut, are in town.
