SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- A few miles could make a big difference in your commute or how much snow you shovel in the Sioux Falls metro area today.
Minnehaha County is only under a Winter Weather Advisory. However, Lincoln County, just to to south, is under a Blizzard Warning.
The National Weather Service notes for Minnehaha, Moody and McCook Counties, "Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute. additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches, are expected."
Across the Minnehaha County line, in Lincoln County and further south into Union, Clay and Yankton Counties, it's a different story.
"Blizzard conditions occurring," says the NWS. "Travel will be very dangerous to impossible, including during the morning commute. Tree branches could fall as well. Additional snow accumulations of 9 to 14 inches, with localized amounts up to 18 inches, are expected."
