SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com0 -- The key to this crime in Sioux Falls is a key.

"They called it a spider key and that's what they used to take off the electronic tags." explains Police Spokesman Sam Clemens, describing the arrest of three people at two businesses.

The suspects are accused of using this 'spider key' to disable the security tags on merchandise and then trying to sneak it out of the stores in bags in their shopping carts. A total of over $3,500 in merchandise was involved.

One business was near Arrowhead Parkway and Sycamore. The other was near Arrowhead and Veterans Parkway. Police no longer release the names of businesses due to their interpretation of Marsy's Law.

Arrested are 32-year-old Ryan Jeffrey Benjamin, 19-year-old Jennifer Rose McBride, Billie Ray Peddicord, 39.
