SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- It's a record stocking stuffer for the Sioux Empire United Way.
United Way officials held a special ceremony to announce a major donation.
They then proceeded to slowly pull a big check facsimile for $1 million out of a giant Christmas stocking, to amazed and joyful applause.
The record donation is from Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard, the largest single gift ever recevied by the local United Way campaign. The business and its employees pledged nearly $853,000, and owner T. Denny Sanford kicked in the rest to make a nice, round incrediable number.
United Way says the big gift pushes their current campaign to 78 percent of the overall campaign goal.
