SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- It's a long standing tradition on our sister stations KRRO, KTWB, KELO-FM and Q97-7--The Children's Miracle Network Radiothon.
It runs Thursday and Friday.
But where does the money go? K-T-W-B's Doc Murphy explains.
"Whatever we raise with our radiothon stays right here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota," Murphy said. "It goes to direct care of the child and assistance to the family."
Murphy also explains what you can expect over the two days and how to be a part of things.
"The stories will melt your heart," Murphy said. "And some times break your heart. We just ask you to get involved."
Murphy says putting together the Radiothon for Kids for the Children's Miracle Network gets your attention. It is not just another day behind the microphone.
"It really doesn't compare," Murphy said, getting ready for the remote broadcasts compared to his regular early morning shift on KTWB. "There's so much that goes on behind the scenes."
KTWB has participated in 12 radiothons. This is Murphy's ninth.
The radiothon takes place at "The Castle" on the main Sanford campus.
