HARRISBURG, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Growing Harrisburg finally has a grocery store.
Faireway Stores, Inc. on Wednesday cut the ribbon on a new 19,000 square foot full-service store at 300 Willow Street West in Harrisburg.
It's a milestone for Harrisburg, but also a milestone for Fareway, as the new store is the Iowa-based company's 120th store.
“We appreciate the efforts of the former property owner and local city officials who worked hard to make this store a reality,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “The new location has been highly anticipated by Fareway staff, community stakeholders, and area residents alike, and we’re excited to serve the citizens of Harrisburg.”
“We are very happy and excited to welcome Fareway to our community." said Harrisburg Mayor Julie Burke-Van Luvanee.
City officials hope that the new store will help encourage still more commercial growth.
