City Councilor Greg Neitzert issued a lengthy press release today and says there are 12 misconceptions opponents have to the public/private parking ramp project downtown.

The City council is set to vote tomorrow on whether to give the project final approval tomorrow.

This morning on The Greg Belfrage Show, he said there's no more secrecy about the investors in the project than any other city project.

"We require the name of the firm, and of course we make that public," Neitzert said. "We don't know who the investors are or the shareholders are or the part owners of any of these entities. We never ask for that. We don't get that.

He also takes issue with the math some Councilors and project critics have done on the number of parking spaces the project will provide.

"We're not losing the spaces, we're replacing them," Neitzert said. "We're going to have new spaces in the ramp that replace those."

Tuesday's Council meeting will be the second and final reading of the measure. It passed 6-2 on its first reading last month.
