SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- In an unexpected move Tuesday Sioux Falls Development Foundation President Slater Barr has resigned his position.
KELO.com news has learnd that Vice President Dean Dziedzic was named the interim President.
Very few details have been made public about the move, other than Barr is leaving for another opportunity.
In a statement Barr said he is proud of the accomplishments of the Foundation under his watch, adding that the city has seen significant growth.
Foundation Board Chair Steve Statz released a statement saying "The board has great confidence in Dean and his solid economic development leadership for our community." Statz went on to say he wishes Barr well in his future endeavors.
Among the milestones of the Foundation was the 800 acre Foundation Park on the city's Northwest side, which is to become the largest industrial park in South Dakota.
