SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Ever-booming Sioux Falls is back on track for another record building year.

"We had a good month in the month of October again, and it looks like we are ahead of last years pace by just a little bit." City Permits Chief Butch Warrington told KELO Radio's It's Your Business Show with Bill Zortman on Wednesday.

Through October, permits totaled $624.7 million, compared with $611.6 million for the same period last year.

Warrington said that November and December are usually slower months for construction, so he didn't want to predict how the city would end 2017.

If this year is another record, that would make five record building years in a row.  The 2016 annual record was $701.9 million.
