VERMILION, S.D. (KELO.com and KWSN) -- University of South Dakota football has been rocked by sexual assault charges against two players.

Danny Rambo and Dale Williamson are accused of assaulting a woman at off-campus housing in Vermilion, even as she was having consensual sex with a third football player, Adam Harris.

Football Coach Bob Nielson refuses to comment other than to state the obvious, on Sports Radio KWSN in Sioux Falls.

"At this point in time, they continue to be suspended. The investigative process goes on." Nielson refuses to talk about what impact these allegations are having on the team, now 7-1 with three games to go in the regular season.

Adding to USD's embarrassment are all the lurid details from court documents and affidavits now being made public. USD President Jim Abbot calls the situation "troubling."

Rambo, 20, has been charged with one count of second degree rape, and Williamson, 21, with one charge of attempted second degree rape. Harris has not been charged, but has also been suspended from the team.

The accusations against Rambo and Williamson come amidst a nationwide outpouring of sexual assault victims telling their stories on social media.
