LUVERNE, MN (KELO.com) -- The Pilgrim's Pride poultry processing plant in Luverne, Minnesota, is closing down.
200 jobs are at stake, but the company says it will try to get the workers relocated to other plants.
It was less than a year ago, that the Colorado-based company acquired the Luverne facility.
The reason for closing the plant is given in the company's official release:
“to shift production and equipment to more efficient operations to enhance synergies.”
Pilgrim's Pride says it hopes to have the shutdown completed by December 29.
