The National Weather Service in Aberdeen says it is best to be safe in the field when working to avoid a fire.
Some things to have on hand while working in the field are an ABC and pressurized water fire extinguishers handy, along with a cell phone and shovel.
Make sure your equipment is clean and maintained properly, along with proper wiring and hydraulics. When refueling, make sure the engine is cool before doing so.
