SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Don't think Garth Brooks playing nine concerts in Sioux Falls over two weekends isn't a big economic boost?
Don't tell that to Renegade Western Wear's Troy Weyhrich, owner and CEO of the store in in the Empire Mall.
"The only thing I can go but is a lot of our vendors that we deal with have worked with stores in other communities where Garth has come in," Weyhrich said. "They've seen as much as a 100 percent increase in same period sales during the course of the shows."
Weyhrich says they brought in extra inventory from their Norfolk, Nebraska store to help meet the demand as well as additional help.
As of last Friday, Weyhrich says he was seeing good sales of western garb.
"We've definitely seen an uptick," Weyhrich said. "It's been great for the community. It's been great for our stores, It's been great for the Empire Mall here where we're located. It's a real positive for this area."
The store also brought in Cinch, which is Garth Brooks men's fashions label.
Weyhrich said Brooks' appearance in Sioux Falls and impact on his business is akin to "Black Friday," the big Christmas shopping day after Thanksgiving. Though maybe call it "Garth Friday."
