SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Denny Sanford Premier Center assistant GM Chris Semrau, who handles booking for the venue, will watch one of his first pet projects explode over the next two weeks.
"I think the first call I made on my first day in Sioux Falls about 3 and a half years ago was to my friends in the Garth Brooks camp," said Semrau.
He says it took nearly two years to finally secure an agreement between the parties, and while he doesn't remember the exact number of phone calls or meetings in Nashville it took to cement that agreement, he admits the leg work was worth it.
"This is one that a tremendous amount of time and effort went into, so it's great to see it come together," Semrau said.
Despite all the leg work Semrau put into making this event happen, he knows the real winners are the fans who will get to see one of the most exciting touring acts in the country.
"[It's great] knowing how many memories this man is going to leave on the all the folks coming from across the country to see this historic run," Semrau said.

Over one hundred thousand tickets were sold for the nine performances, and Semrau says it will be an international crowd.
"I believe we've received messages from folks in Finland, South America, Canada, and all over the country," Semrau said. "People travel to see this artist because it's just not something you get to see every day."
Semrau went on to say that folks in businesses around Sioux Falls should keep an eye out for Brooks or Yearwood as the next two weeks go by.
"He's an artist that's been known to pop up at a local establishment from time to tome or will do some sight seeing in the community," he said. "Garth and Trisha, they are average folks like you and I and they take pride in getting to know their fans and engaging their fans."
Memories to be made all the way around. Needless to say the next two weeks will be special for Sioux Falls and the area.
