SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) A new Lewis Drug Store, Sanford Acute Care Clinic, and rooftop dining will fill the void left in downtown Sioux Falls by the building collapse on Phillips Avenue.
The new two-story development, at 10th and Phillips, will include Lewis Drug and the Sanford Clinic on the first floor and an expansion of the adjacent PAve Restaurant on the second floor. The restaurant addition will include a 3,200 sq ft rooftop patio.
“Everyone involved in the project has been focused on honoring the history of the site while keeping pace with the progress of downtown Sioux Falls,” says Lewis Drug Corporate Vice President Nikki Griffin. “We’re proud to work with great partners on this project and aspire to create a space that celebrates the strength of our community and the continued growth of Downtown.”
The family of Ethan McMahon, the construction worker killed in the collapse last December, has released a statement that they “Appreciate being included in the planning of this project and believe it will be a great addition to downtown Sioux Falls."
The project is expected to be completed in Spring of 2018.
