Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – Fire crews are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a single family home in Sioux Falls Saturday morning.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was called to the home in the 2400 block of South West Avenue just after midnight. Arriving crews found smoke coming from the residence with flames and smoke seen in a basement window. All residents of the structure had left the building safely.
The fire was put out in about 15 minutes. There was smoke damage to the home with heavy fire damage to a basement bedroom.
There were no injuries reported.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would remind residents to test their smoke detectors monthly, check the detector’s expiration date, and have an evacuation plan in place for your family.
