SIOUX FALLS,SD (KELO-AM) - City fogging trucks and crews will be humming along in neighborhoods throughout town TONIGHT from 8 til One A-M, due to more mosquitoes. Tonight's operation will be in zones 3, 4, 5, 10, and 14...City Health Department's Denise Patton says they'll spray the City bike trail twice a week between 4 and 8 A.M.
The Mosquito Control Program follows a phased-response guideline created by the Centers for Diseas Control that is used to determine when spray events and other treatments are needed.
A product called Perm-X 30-30 will be used for spray treatments. It's designed to break down in the environment quickly and are used at very low concentrations. Perm-X 30-30 is approved for use by the EPA in residential areas for adult mosquito control.
