South Dakota tribe to consider legal pot

UNDATED (KELO AM) South Dakota's Yankton Sioux Tribe will consider legalizing marijuana on tribal land.

The Yankton Press and Dakotan Newspaper reports that there's a big tribal meeting to discuss the idea scheduled for July 21 at the Ford Randall Casino near Pickstown.

Tribal leaders reportedly will discuss legalizing both recreational and medical marijuana.

The Santee Sioux legalized pot on tribal land near Flandreau in 2015. The tribe eventually got into trouble with state officials for trying to develop a marijuana resort to attract non-indian pot smokers
