WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) South Dakota's lone U.S. Representative, Republican Kristi Noem, is calling for a return to civility in the wake of the congressional baseball shooting rampage this week.
She says contempt and disdain should not be part of political debates.
"When things get heated, we must keep in mind that the person we’re debating is God’s creation too. That, in and of itself, demands civility." says Noem.
She asks that South Dakotans join her in praying for the ability to disagree while maintaining respect for the "other side."
Noem entitled her weekly column "A Common Country."
