WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) South Dakota's Congressional Delegation is weighing in on reports that President Trump shared classified information in a White House meeting with Russian officials.
Senator John Thune (R) and Kristi Noem (R) both call all the swirling questions a distraction from vital work on Healthcare and tax reform.
Senator Thune says the White House needs to be "clear and straightforward", so Washington can basically get back to business.
Noem Spokeswoman, Brittany Commins says while at this point "we do not know what was exchanged during last week's meeting, Rep. Noem hopes for an explanation soon..."
Senator Mike Rounds (R) says that Trump's decision was alarming, but legal. He says that a president has the legal right to declassify information, but thinks that in this instance it may not have been done with "sufficient care".
The Washington Post first broke the story about Trump's White House meeting with the Russians. Social media and the cable news networks have been obsessing ever since.
