SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) Police are investigating a report of gunshots on 24th and Menlo, near the campus of the University of Sioux Falls.
Police responded to the area after multiple calls of gunshots around 2:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon, says Sgt. Andrew Siebenborn. Siebenborn also said the preliminary investigation found that a group of people had been arguing when the shots were fired.
Officers still remain on the scene. No arrests have been made, no injuries have been reported, and Siebenborn says there is no danger to the public.
As a precaution, the Sanford campus is on lockdown due to the proximity of the situation. There is limited access to the hospital.
A security guard is stationed at the door, but people can still come in. Those inside already have been asked not to leave.
The investigation is still ongoing. If you have any information call police at 605-367-7000 or CrimeStoppers at 605-367-7007.
