SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) The child porn charges against former Fire Rescue Chief Jim Sideras have shocked Sioux Falls, most directly the neighbors on his street.
"You just don't know who your neighbors really are....It's disturbing to me that they would be that close to my house," Kim Sigler tells KSFY TV.
Cory Buck also lives on South Magnolia Avenue and is no less disturbed.
"It's a wake up call to the things that go on around us. And unfortunately, it's a very sad set of events."
But there was a decidedly different take on Sideras on KELO Radio's Greg Belfrage Show Tuesday morning. A former volunteer chaplain for Sioux Falls Fire Rescue called in to say he was excited for the former chief.
"Because hidden sin is a shackle and you live with that darkness in your world, not wanting to expose it because you know the reaction, so you hide it," He explained that now Sideras can "walk free", get help, and have his family and friends come around him to show him the grace that he needs.
