WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO AM) One of the Nation's top youth volunteers is 13-year-old Donnie Stoltz of Sioux Falls.
The Seventh grader at Patrick Henry Middle School has collected sports equipment for more than 100 needy children through the years.
What got him started was a TV story back when he was eight about a man who gave money away to strangers.
Donnie says he thought that was cool and has been helping others ever since.
He was recognized Sunday night in Washington DC at the 22nd annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
South Dakota had two honorees at the awards ceremony. The other is 16-year-old Anneliese Taggart of Vermillion.
