Sioux Falls Fire Rescue spent Sunday afternoon fighting a blaze on the southwest side of the city.

A structure fire call came in just after 1 P.M. Four trucks and crews, Paramedics, and Police responded to the fire on Southwind Avenue. The residents were not home. Captain Garett Dulaney says crews knocked out the blaze within approximately 15 minutes.

Animal Control was called to check on three dogs inside the home. Two of the three dogs were located. A firefighter was bitten by one of the dogs, but didn't need medical attention. Animal Control took them to an emergency Vet. Red Cross is also assisting the family. No other injuries were reported.

Cause of the blaze is under investigation, but reports say it may have started on the deck, due to a gas grill.
