SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) A search warrant was conducted Tuesday at a house owned by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Chief Jim Sideras.
Minnehaha County Sheriff Mike Milstead read a statement that only confirms a search, not any names involved.
"The search warrant was conducted at a residence located at 4408 S. Magnolia Avenue in Sioux Falls. Members of the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation served the warrant earlier today, as part of an ongoing investigation." read Milstead.
Sideras announced his retirement from the department last month after 34 years of service.
According to a release from the city Division Chief Brad Goodroad has been elevated to acting Chief until the national search for Sideras' replacement is complete. The city says they will have no further comment on the matter, as the investigation is ongoing. It's unclear what affect Tuesday's developments will have on his next professional path as the leader of South Dakota's Healthcare Coalition.
Sideras has not responded to messages seeking comment.
