SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) - Members of the South Dakota Air National Guard's 114th Fighter Wing Mission Support Group were honored today at a pre-deployment activation ceremony. The 125 Airmen will spend six months deployed to nine different locations, supporting Air Force operations in a variety of roles.
Wing Mobility Officer Lieutenant Josh Nelson says the Support Group teams will serve overseas in jobs ranging from cooks to cops, communications , civil engineers, fuelers and firefighters.
The Airmen and their families were sent off with well wishes from Governor Daugaard, Lieutenant Governor Michels, Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds, along with Congresswoman Kristi Noem.
