WASHINGTON, DC (KELO-AM) In a body blow to President Trump's agenda, The House Republican replacement plan for Obamacare was pulled on Friday because there were not enough votes to get it passed.
In the scrambled hours leading up to the decision to pull the bill, House Speaker Pau Ryan met with Trump at the White House to share with him the lack of votes. Fox News reports that sources say the President asked Ryan to pull the bill.
It's unclear if this setback means House Republicans must go back to square one or if the basic framework of the Ryan plan could be reformulated in the weeks ahead to please all members, most especially the very conservative Freedom Caucus.
