Sioux Falls vision questing for prime real estate

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) The City of Sioux Falls is seeking proposals for how to develop two prime pieces of city-owned land across the street from Falls Park West and the future Levitt Pavilion.

The parcels, totaling nearly two acres, are located at 701 and 721 North Phillips Avenue in prime time territory in the growing Uptown section of the city.

In the past several years, the city has made land available, resulting in several million dollars of private development. The City believes the timing is right for more development now, with the construction of the Levitt Pavilion, which plans to start hosting concerts in 2019.

“This is a great opportunity to continue the revitalization of Uptown,” says Daren Ketcham, Director of Community Development. “This development opportunity will complement the public and private investments in the area and strengthen the heart of our city.”

The City is issuing what's called a Formal Request for Proposals. A copy of the RFP can be found at www.siouxfalls.org/rfp.

Formal proposals and any related questions should be directed to Scott Rust, Purchasing Manager, at srust@siouxfalls.org.

RFP's must be received no later than 2 p.m. Central Time, Friday, April 14, 2017.

If the City decides to award a proposal, it would likely be this summer.
