PIERRE, SD (KELO.COM) South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is helping spearhead a new national effort to better use technology to save children from sex traffickers.
Republican Jackley has joined with Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, a Democrat, to announce creation of the national "Campaign for Child Rescue."
"Project Child Rescue provides needed resources, technology, and software for law enforcement to identify and rescue children." says Jackley.
The Project will be a joint partnership between law enforcement, government, business and non-profit groups. The campaign kicks off this week at the annual winter meeting in Washington of the National Association of Attorneys General.
“There is no higher or more urgent priority in law enforcement than protecting our children,” says Jackley. He says the Campaign for Child Rescue will leverage new technology to identify and share information.
The AG’s campaign is joining forces with The National Association to PROTECT Children and PROJECT VIC, an international technology consortium. The project helps develop and deploy technology donated by several industry partners, including Microsoft and software developer Griffeye.
