Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The red wolf is one of the rarest animals in the world, but the population just increased by three at the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls.
The Zoo announced on Thursday that three rare red wolf pups have been born. Mama Wolf, Daddy Wolf and the three little wolves are all doing fine. The Zoo invites you out to take a look.
Experts say there are fewer than 300 red wolves in the entire world. The Great Plains Zoo has been breeding red wolves since 1993.
