Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The four new members of Sioux Falls City Council were sworn in Tuesday afternoon at Carnegie Town Hall.

Theresa Stehly, At-Large, Marshall Selberg, Southwest District, Greg Neitzert, Northwest District, and Pat Starr, Northeast District took the oath administered by County Judge John Pekas, and were then invited to take their hot seats on Council.

Mayor Mike Huether asked for a special round of applause for the families of the new members, saying they will be making sacrifices now that their loved ones are in public life.

"Sioux Falls, we have some work to do," said Huether, "and this council is ready to tackle it with spit and some vigor, and I look forward to working with them."

Huether may have some push back from at least one of the new council members on his plan for building a $22 million city administration building downtown. Councilor Neitzert says one of his priorities is finding alternatives to a new building.

Neitzert, Stehly, Selberg, and Starr were elected in the April Election, bringing four new faces to the eight member City Council.

A round of applause was also offered for the outgoing councilors - Kenny Anderson, Jr., Greg Jamison, Dean Karsky, and Kermit Staggers, to thank them for their service to Sioux Falls.
