SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A 21-year-old man went from jail to jail after allegedly stealing an unlocked car left running in Pipestone, Minnesota.
Sioux Falls police say Ashton Brooks White-Olson, from Parker, South Dakota, was just released from the Pipestone jail and needed a ride to Sioux Falls to meet with his parole officer.
Police say the temperatures were cold Monday and White-Olson didn't have a ride to Sioux Falls and that's when he came upon the running vehicle.
Multiple agencies were alerted including highway patrols from both states, Pipestone and Minnehaha County Sheriff's offices and Sioux Falls Police
Authorities caught up to White-Olson at the parole office and arrested him for possession of a stolen vehicle.
No word on what his Minnesota charges were.
