PIERRE, SD (KELO AM) KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls is defying the State Legislature by refusing to provide possible evidence in the Mathew Wollmann sex scandal.
The House Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion has subpoened the TV station for a recording of a legislative intern talking about Wollman's behavior. KSFY's attorney responded by saying the committee does not have the authority to subpoena the station.
Former Republican State Representative Wollmann resigned after admitting he had sex with two interns. Despite the resignation. the select committee is still investigating.
Meanwhile, Republican State Senator Stace Nelson says he will try again for a legislative rules change to specifically prohibit sexual contact between state lawmakers and interns and pages.
Nelson says he is reintroducing the rules change that was voted down two weeks ago. Nelson has claimed that legislative leaders knew of Wollman's behavior for months but basically looked the other way.
