SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) The big snowstorm took its sweet time getting to Sioux Falls, but that made the Tuesday afternoon ride home a little easier to take in South Dakota's biggest city.

"The weather really slowed down as it was coming toward Sioux Falls, in between like Beresford and Sioux Falls, it slowed down a little bit. We were thinking we were going to have a really rough commute," City Snow Chief Gaylynn Huber tells KELO Radio's Rick Williams.

Huber says all the sanders are out, and they're putting down chemicals and all the city's contractors are out fighting the storm.

The National Weather Service predicts that the storm could favor the Sioux Falls area with up ten inches of wet snow before the end.

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Wednesday noon.
