SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Highway Patrol identifies the victim in Sunday's fatal semi-trailer crash at I-229 and Minnesota Avenue as 43-year-old Jason Sammons of Storm Lake, Iowa.
The female driver injured in her car on Minnesota Avenue is identified as 23-year-old Jasmine Webbs of Sioux Falls.
The Patrol says Sammons was driving a truck tractor northbound on I-229 early Sunday morning when he lost control, hit the guard rail, went off the highway and came crashing down on Minnesota Avenue.
The tractor hit the front end of the car Webbs as driving. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a city hospital.
Sammons was dead at the scene.
The Patrol has not released a cause for the crash and is continuing the investigation.
