Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - At least one person is expressing interest in reviving one of Chuck Brennan's soon to be closed enterprises.
According to her web site, Teri Thompson Katzenberger is looking to pick up the Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls after Brennan shuts it down December 23rd. She is the owner of Get Fit 4 Life LLC, and founder of the "Community Enrichment Ministry." According to her web site, Katzenberger's story mirrors those she's looking to help with the Academy, as she is a survivor of domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction, and has overcome homelessness twice.
The Academy has traditionally reached out to at-risk youth or those from low incomes, offering free or reduced cost music lesions.
Katzenberger is accepting donation to help purchase the academy. Brennan announced last week he would be closing the school, citing South Dakota's new cap on payday lending rates as one of the biggest reasons why.
Those wishing to donate to Katzenberger's cause can do so on her web site.
