SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police arrested a Sioux Falls man for human trafficking after detectives arranged a meeting for sex with a 27-year-old women at southwest motel Saturday night.
Officer Sam Clemens says 50-year-old Jerome Davis Kent was arrested after police talked with the woman. Detectives determined that Kent used some force over the woman to get her into prostitution.
Clemens says the woman told detectives that she didn't have any money or identification. She says that Kent provided her with food and shelter. She says she was an unwilling participant in prostitution.
Detectives made the connection to the woman through an online ad.
Clemens couldn't say how Kent and the woman met initially or how the relationship ended up as a human trafficking case.
The woman is not facing any charges.
